Jim Head ALCO
CopyRite
A native of the Midwest, Jim holds an M.S. degree from Purdue University and was a history teacher in his early years. His 22 years of experience in the office products industry includes stints with Xerox and Honeywell before founding CopyRite in 1979 (with Don Dudine).
CopyRite became the largest privately operated copy machine dealership in Indiana before being purchased by AOP in 1988. Shortly thereafter, Jim was named Midwest SOG leader of one of AOP's five strategic operating regions. (The Midwest SOG consisted of: CopyRite, St Johns Business Machines, Copy Corp, Hovinga Business Systems, O’Brien Business Products, American Business Machines, DC Hey Company and Copy Data). In 1993 Jim succeeded John Stuart as President of AOP. Jim retired from AOP in 1995.
Jim - Bonnie 1992 |
Today, Jim and wife Bonnie reside in Miromar Beach and Golf Club in Estero, Florida.
They sold their Knoxville,TN home in December 2013 and moved back to Florida where Jim enjoys golf and fishing while Bonnie has become a serious ballroom dancer, traveling the dance circuit and competing all over the country!
I remember the first time I met Jim at his CopyRite office in Indianapolis. Two things stand out in my mind; when I walked in the front door, there was a big glass wall that allowed you to see-through to the service room, a room that most dealerships tried to hide because of the black toner, tools and cleaning rags everywhere, but not at CopyRite, you were allowed to see the service room and watch the repair and everything that went with it. The next thing I remember was walking in to Jim's office and seeing a real, working 1950 Jukebox. I was impressed, not only with the Jukebox, but with the individuality of Jim Head!
