Peter Allan Dierickx, 73, passed away March 2, 2016, at Covenant Shores on Mercer Island. He suffered from prostate cancer for 14 years and fought it to the end. Peter was born May 22, 1942, in Seattle to William L. Dierickx and Kathryn (Friese) Dierickx. He grew up in Magnolia and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1960. He attended the University of Washington and Western Washington University. After school, Peter settled down to work in his true calling, sales, for the William Dierickx Company. This marked the beginning of a 40-year career. Peter's outgoing personality and charisma led to much success as he went from salesman to president of the company. Peter and his brother, Bill, grew the business from 50 employees to 375.

Peter was an avid golfer. He loved spending winters in Palm Desert and had many wonderful times with his children and grandchildren there.

Peter married Judy Likkel in 1961 and they had three children, Brett, Erin and Megan. He met his second wife, Marilyn McDonald, playing racquetball at the Washington Athletic Club. They had two children, Tyler and Chad. Pete is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his brother, Bill and his wife, Jeanne, as well as his five children and their spouses -- John Byxbee, John Brodsky and Ashley (Quintana) Dierickx. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

A small celebration of life was held at Broadmoor Golf Club for family and close friends at 4:00 PM on March 10th.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to www.fredhutch.org/ipcr
